Will The Braces Pain Stop? |
If you just got braces on, there is a chance that your teeth could be sore from the change. This pain is usually very short lived and most patients say it is very tolerable for the future results. If you are finding that the brackets are cutting up your gum or uncomfortable in some sense, then you can apply wax over the bracket. This will put a soft barrier between your cheek/gum and the bracket. Works like charm and then once you go back in for an adjustment, you can make a note to your orthodontist of which bracket is the trouble maker. In short, the pain felt with braces is very minor and becomes more and more tolerable as you continue your treatment. Each time the orthodontist does and adjustment you can expect to be somewhat sore for the few days after. Most say the soreness usually goes away and doesn’t stop them from enjoying food. If you are in an unusual amount of pain from your braces, we highly recommend you go back to your orthodontist and communicate the issue at hand. |
