There a quite a bit of mixed feelings when it comes to getting your wisdom teeth taken out. It is quite an expensive procedure which is not covered by insurance most of the time.
However, most dentist and oral surgeons will agree that wisdom teeth should be removed before a person reaches there mid twenties. Wisdom teeth are so far in the back of the mouth that good hygiene becomes an issue and can spread to other surrounding teeth.

If you are getting braces and have a bite issue. It is a very good idea to get the x-rays done showing that your wisdom teeth are coming in straight or not. Most of the time, they come in straight or not at all and don’t have to be removed.
The average price of wisdom tooth extraction has been in the $400 per tooth range. Some places charge more for the anesthesia used and such during the procedure.
Post procedures consist of mild pain killers and using cotton swabs to absorb any post surgery bleeding. The post surgery is quite simple but is recommended that you take a few days off from work while on the pain killers and such.
